Feeling Surprised

INTERNET RESOURCE: Beliefnet

Beliefnet.com -- Prayer of the Day
http://www.beliefnet.com/prayeroftheday/prayer_one.asp?pid=1865

I recently joined this daily mailing of
prayers from various faiths. It is fascinating....a broad range from The "Our Father" yesterday to the Zoroastrian Declaration of Faith today.  It is a very interesting tool to increase awareness and tolerance of other's beliefs. It is also useful if you just want to find resources about your own faith.  This whole site is interesting, with surveys to discover what faith your beliefs most
closely match (I learned to my surprise that I am closest to being a Quaker, then a Unitarian, then Native American/Indigeonous beliefs).  It also turns out that I am in the traditional "seeker" mode of thought (I would have thought I was much less traditional.  There are quotes from all different religions,
directories of prayers from different faiths and situations, and a prayer circle.
love, Kas

    Kass,

I've been a member of BeliefNet for a while; so long, in fact, that I've forgotten which religion I'm closest too. LOL, actually, I was born & raised catholic, have done all the rounds at other churches including a Baptist church (hmm, now that goes hand in hand w/Catholicism now, doesn't it?). Still, I keep going back to my Catholic upbringing even though I don't believe in a lot of their beliefs as well. Now, LOL I just call myself a "Smorgasbord Catholic".
