Honest Journal, Honest Mom
I spent some time wondering (as I was out on the front porch scrubbing vomit out of the car mats) if I should express my pain and disorganization in my homeschooling journal. After all, it really doesn't have much to do with homeschooling--or does it? I think that to be honest in this journal about the challenges of being home twenty four hours a day with three children that I 'm trying to teach and turn into decent human beings is the best gift I can give the homeschooling community at large.
Much of the homeschooling literature out there paints a rosy picture of moms who keep immaculate houses, dressed in charming jumpers and fake pearls, milking the goats while simulataneously teaching the Periodic Table to one enthralled child and breast feeding the other.
I am not that homeschooling mother.
I have three wonderful demanding messy children, a good but sometimes clueless spouse, I am coping with a brain injury and a miscarriage, and I was not Born Organized. I live in the Real World.
This journal reflects that real world.
