Feeling Happy

Blank books

I know I don't have to convince all of you out there journaling away the value of keeping a journal. My daughters keep several journals on various subjects. I buy them blank books and they fill them with their thoughts on various subjects. We include pictures, notes and post cards. Currently they each have a Titanic journal, a Bird Journal, a Science Journal, a Poetry journal, and Mandy has a serial killer journal. Tabitha has a cookbook journal.

Tonight they spent two hours happily writing in their newly created Bird Journals. We have visited Pelican Man in Florida, seen the Raptors, watched two bird videos and have experience ourselves with our own birds. They have a lot to write about.

They do not consider this "school" and felt like they were getting away with something because I did not make them work in their Odious Workbooks.

I am happy to see them doing some creative writing. Their styles are markedly different, but to see them both happily writing makes me smile.

I am so envious. I long to be one of those people who keeps several different themed journals, but I am so stingy with money and/or have so much to say about so many different things that it all just goes into one place, my online journal, with my handwritten one as a backup for things I don't want to share with the public. Someday, perhaps, I will catch up on my journaling...

Aaahh...this brings back some of the best memories of my girlhood. I will never forget that first diary...hot pink with sunflowers on the cover. I started writing and (obviously) have never stopped. Do your girls post online journals?

yes there is alot to be said for keeping notes that one day they may look back on becuaes it was done by them!!!!!!!! Lori
