Feeling Happy
Hearing Rusted Root (Shelby is obsessed with this CD and plays it nonstop).

Sunwatch Village

Here are some pictures from the field trip to SunWatch Village in Ohio. It is a reconstruction of a Paleolithic Native American village.  Mandy is the girl in the olive shirt, Tabby is the one in the bottom looking disgruntled because the little boy is blocking her. :-)

Our dear friends the Riesenbergs are also in the pictures. Emily is Tabby's closest friend. Emily and Tabby are walking around the village in the one photo...other homeschoolers are all posing in the second one.  Hannah and  Brett are in the top row with Mandy.

These pictures are about half a year old. I have figured out how to copy the pictures other people have sent me (Laura sent all of these to me) but not how to upload my own pictures off the camera yet. I am beginning to wonder if the camera is broken since the computer crashes and says there is a fatal flaw every time I plug the camera in.

Anyway, another valuable thing about these photographs is they demonstrate that homeschooled children are not trapped at home, separated from other children. We are a very gregarious lot, and tend to go on lots of field trips together.

You might want to plug your camera in with the computer off and then start the computer to see if that helps. If that doesn't work, check the website of the maker of your camera to see if there is an updated version of the software or any bug fixes available. :-)  -B

I used to see kids who said they were "homeschooled." This meant someone kept them home from school so they wouldn't tell anyone what was going on at home, and there was no instruction going on that anyone would approve of. It makes me feel good to see what you are doing with homeschooling. It's wonderful to see the option being put to appropriate use! Your family obviously thrives on it! xoxo

Oh wow. I love the pics you are adding to each entry. Makes it so personal. So this looks like  a neat place to go. Lori

That is something I didn't fully realize until I started reading your journal.  I assumed that homeschooling meant social isolation of a sort, and it clearly does NOT.  Your children probably have more social opportunities than mine do.
