Feeling Frustrated

A RARE RANT

I love my husband, I really do, but there are times that LIVING with him drives me crazy.  He had three extra vacation days this week, so we went camping.  When we returned from camping on Thursday, all the camping gear was piled into the living room.

Guess who got to put it all away on Friday ( a two hour job with a toddler hanging on your leg) while said husband was at the Cincinnati Reds game?  Saturday he spent all day until midnight at the King's Island Amusement Park. Yesterday he went fishing. Tonight he invited a friend over to have dinner--he is out rounding up fresh dill for the gourmet meal he wants to cook for her.

I am trying to homeschool two older kids, answer their questions about grammer and sequencing and nurse a demanding toddler who keeps saying her mouth hurts.

I am also expected to get the house clean--which looks like a bomb went off.

The baby just took her diaper off and pooped in the back yard, stepped in it, and tracked it throughout the house.

Delilah puked.

Last night while we were laying in bed I mentioned mildly that I really, really, really want the painting I finally got back from the framers hung up. I got it the first week of August. It now has a huge chip on the side of the frame, the painting is scratched, and there is dirt on it.

His retort?

He said I really need to get over and clean our rental property.

EXCUSE ME?  Like I do nothing else around here?

I wasn't off fishing, playing at amusement parks, driving around by myself searching out delicacies, or attending a Red's game these past four days.

If I get to poop by myself I consider it a treat.

I have started eating standing up so Shelby won't see it as an opportunity to nurse!

Give me  break.

I refuse to do anything else until that painting is up. He has hidden the drill and the drill bits. He says he doesn't want us to use his tools.  I think I will go buy MY OWN DAMN DRILL AND MY OWN DRILL BITS AND MY OWN ANCHORS.

Rant finished.

I hope you all make it on Friday....the kids are looking forward to seeing your kids....I am hoping the freedom center isn't overwhelming....I figure lunch by the playground at Sawyer Point and a chance to burn off some energy before heading up will be a good thing!  See you all at 11!

The program at AJ Jolly yesterday was really nice although not what  was expecting...I thought it was a recycling PLANT...DUH....it was a presentation about landfills, recycling and then about how nature recycles, really a nice presentation!  The presenter did a great job and the kids seemed to enjoy themselves, I was just happy to get out in the beautiful weather!

Can completely sympathize with computer problems...ours is still in the shop...using the "kids" computer which is totally F*cked up and has no CD drive cuz they broke it, but at least I can fetch mail and surf the net (however SLOWLY)....

Did you ever talk with the new girls about scouts (the ones at the fireworks)...are they interested or is it just too expensive?

Laura<~~missing you, hope you make it out Friday!

I hope the strike is going well.......I'd buy my own tool set too.  I like that 'strapping young man to hang the painting' plan, too.  It strikes me this situation is similar to the 'twenty loads of laundry on the basement floor' issue that I came into your journal at.  He seems to think that because you don't work outside the home, you should then do EVERYTHING inside the home.  Not so.  Tell him if you have to clean the rental place out by yourself, fine.....he can nurse the baby while you're gone.  Sheesh.  I know he's a good guy for the most part, but he's got a blind spot about the BIG chores.

nothing original to add, Kas, except they have some affordable drills at Sears, Target, K-Mart, etc. My mom bought me one, bless her heart. And a little strike to show what magic occurs when others are off playing day after day never hurt anyone.
