Feeling Happy
Both of our greyhounds were considered special needs adoptions , even for rescued greyhounds. Atticus was so old--five and a half years--that no one wanted an older male. He was perfect for our family. Two weeks later we adopted Delilah, who had been terribly abused, She arrived with staples in her shoulders, a terrible gastroenterological condition, and her tail had been broken in the starting gate several times. We were given the option to return her because she was so wired---her rescuer named her Bratty. But she just needed love. She is a delight, as silly and playful as Atticus is dignified and intelligent.

Ah, I remember the hair coloring days with my daughter! She went through blue, maroon, purple, red....at first it upset me, then I decided that it was her hair and she didn't use anything permanent anyway. I was upset the time she spilled the dye on the bathroom floor, wall, and shower curtain and left it there. I made her clean it up, then I then took her outside and dyed her hair for her with the garden hose. After that, she was allowed to dye her hair, but not in my house. I guess I am the odd woman out, never wanted to change my hair color. xoox

well, you KNOW what I think about all of that. (the treatment of a beautiful breed)..those pics made me miss my Berhan so...**sniff**she was a good old girl. I remember coming home to her curled up on her bed with Scribby the King. A big ole grey and a teeny poodle..lol.
thanx for the memories.

Her hair looks good, even if she didn't ask permission...I am dying mine red soon too. I always wanted to get a greyhound when I had the room for one. They are really sweet things.

Of course i love you're dogs, the're so laid back, unlike Beth and Adam's greyhound Ike. When i go to the're door they yell grandma's here and he gallops to the door and before i know it he's around my neck giving me kisses! I love every minute of it!
I'm rescuing a one year black great dane, if she does'nt what to eat my cats!Pam
