Feeling Happy
The kind farmer drove us out to the pumpkin patch in the hay wagon. He took the long way, so we had a good half hour or so to relax in the haywagon, look at the corn in the fields, the sunflower patch, and all the honeysuckle with it's bright red berries. It was a lovely afternoon, overcast but warm. The kdis had so much fun! Shelby nursed for awhile, and then wandered over to sit in big Sissie's arms for awhile. When the farmer stopped the tractor, he told the kids they could bring home any pumpkin they could carry---that was not part of the deal, it was very generous of him! For the price of the maize, we got to spend the whole day at the farm, go on two hayrides, play in the baled hay and corn pit, and take home huge pumpkins!
