Feeling Mischievous
Marketing Christianity: clothespin crucifix
Let me not pray to be sheltered from dangers, but to be fearless in facing them. Let me not beg for the stilling of my pain, but for the heart to conquer it.
- Rabindranath Tagore
Well, now, this is not exactly marketing the Lord...it is probably a most heartfelt artistic creation.
Click here: Poetry Bay - Online Poetry Magazine a heartbreaking poem about sexual abuse and the clergy...about clothespin crucifixs
Click here: Woodcrafts - Woodcraft I take that back. It IS marketing the Lord--here is a place you can order one of these clothespin crucifixes of your very own, for a VERY reasonable price--and they even accept paypal.
Click here: Marketing Christianity Index the whole series of things we have investigated online.....

Be honest, yes, I find it very distasteful that people make money off their religion, or off of making fun of others religion. I personally cannot see that Christ would want people selling t-shirts of his death, or sandals with his name on them, or crucifixes....I think he would prefer we spend our money helping tsunami victims or the poor....

Question: Do you think it is wrong to market the Lord? I mean in spreading his word because someone mentioned to me that to spread the word in a refined manner (as to opposed to people who do so in an agressive manner) is marketing God.
