Pillows made from your dead pet
When we were down at Main Strausse Village last year, a reporter from the local newspaper ooohhed and ahhed over my Greyhound Atticus's lovely brindle coat. He told us we should skin him when he dies.
This was met with appalled silence by my family.
And yet, here is a site that lets you freeze your dead pet and send it to this taxidermist, who will make a pillow out of it.
Click here: JeanettesTaxidermy.com Pet Pillows The directions for what to do with your dead pet's body are inadvertantly hilarious and gruesome.
"Jeanette's Taxidermy proudly introduces Pet Pillows as
an alternative way to remember your pet. Each pet
pillow is hand made from the fur of your pet and made
into a pillow that you can display. On one side of
the pillow is your pet's fur and the other side of the
pillow is your choice of fabric. These soft, huggable
pillows are a great way to enjoy your cherished pet
and is an inexpensive alternitave to taxidermy. "

I believe that if you need something like this to mourn, that it is fine. It would bother me, I think.
Notice my child has the same sick humor as the rest of the family. lol
I did dissection in college. I never got used to it. The coats are stiff from the formaldehyde---the taxidermist skillfully tans the hides to make them soft and supple. -
When I was a student at the University of Bridgeport in CT; We had to "take the coats off cats" inorder to study the muscle system. We would put the coat back on after every lab class and close it with straight pins. At first it was gross; But after awhile all of us students got used to it. The cats had been soaked in some sort of preservitive. I don't remember the hair being attractive or soft.
