Feeling Quiet

NATURAL HISTORY MUSEUM CLASS & the rest ofthe day

If there is anything the nonconformist hates worse than a conformist,
it's another nonconformist who doesn't conform to the prevailing
standard of nonconformity.

Bill Vaughan

Today Mandy's boyfriend Derrick took the girls to their NHM class and the Omnimax, while I stayed at home and slept.  It is nice that she is dating someone that is kind and wants to do things with the whole family.  They even took the baby with them. Shelby came home with a glow-in-the-dark Mako shark, so I surmise that he did not take my advice to stay away from the gift shops.

We watched the Young Black Stallion last night, which was lovely but a little too close to Cutter's death for my comfort.  Anything that portrays Arabic cultures positively is a good thing right now, though.  I want the girls not to fall for the heavy media propaganda that all Islamic people are terrorists.

I also found homes for two more rats!  Someone from the homeschooling community came and took the Daddy rat and the baby that has two colored eyes.  I am so happy that we are finding good homes for some of the wee beasties we rescued.:

Just wanted to let you know they're home safe and into their new cage. The kids love them- and you can tell your daughter that Lauren decided she likes Spike so much that the big one has been named William the Bloody and the small one has been named Spike (my hubby lobbied for Eggnog). It was nice to meet you guys!
Thanks again so much!!
Jen

Shelby has become a snake fanatic, asking Derrick to bring his rosy boa over every day. She carries her around like Smokey is a stuffed animal.  There is certainly not a drop of fear in her body.

When I ventured downstairs today the house was full of kids. They are like a horde of locusts, eating everything that is within sight.  LOl  I found out that the Easter Bunny did not visit Darrin's house this year, so the girls and I made up a basket for the ten year old to take home and share with his brothers.

reading the old e ntry made me wonder if you have seen Devin or her mom lately....is she back in school??

Many of the kids schooled friends are on break this week.....the phone keeps ringing and invites are being extended....luckily our most pesky of friends are out of town.

Master Will is still coughing......at least he is acting normal!
