Doc is home safe from Iraq!!!
In a 2004 Gallup Poll, nearly one-fifth of the soldiers surveyed said they felt the situation in Iraq had not been worth going to war over. In another poll, in Pennsylvania last August, 54 percent of households with a member in the military said the war was the “wrong thing to do”; in the population as a whole, only 48 percent felt that way
I was so happy to learn that my friend and former Aikido sensei is home safely from Iraq. He called me on Wednesday to talk. I wasn't home. I was just happy to hear his voice on the answering machine and know that he is safe.
Every time I heard about a chopper crashing in Iraq my heart went into my throat. Doc flies Black Hawks.
The girls and I prayed for him often. We sent a small package in the spring to him, full of odd things a Louisiana Man might miss, like instant grits.
Doc served in Viet Nam and now in Iraq...
