Feeling Happy
Rehabbing kittens, snakes, turtles and pigeons
In grateful and reverent memory of the Empire's horses (some 375,000) who fell in the Great War(1914-1918). Most obediently, and often most painfully, they died.
-- Memorial at Church of St. Jude, London

The kittens are thriving...in fact, they are too fat. We need to cut back on how much they are fed. The girls feed them every time they cry. They are so sweet. After so many losses this spring it is nice to have some babies doing well.
We were visited by our old pigeon DooDoo the other day. He sat on the open windowsill by his old cage and let me stroke his feet and wing. But he flew away when Mandy tried to pick him up. I am so glad he is doing well.
Aires the garter snake is still living by our garden pond. Sometimes we see him sunning in the nest spruce. Tabitha found part of his shed skin.
The baby turtles are proving elusive to recapture in the pond. I wanted to check their shells to make sure they are getting enough calcium but they are too hard to capture!

I think that is really amazing how the some of the animals that you have taken care of still come and visit you even though they are now living on their own, how wonderful :)

I noticed Derrick's handsomeness in the pictures below! Mandy is smart to tell him to wait 5 years and get a house. Very, very smart.

The kittins are adorable, and so is your daughter.
