Feeling Happy

Fur baby update

It is hard to believe our baby kittens are weaned and off the bottle. Theoretically they are ready to go to a new home, but we have gotten awfully attached to them. They are so sweet. Even the Greyhounds like the kittens.  Atticus in particular is very protective of them, and lets the kittens sleep with him.

Darren loves the kittens, and holds them constantly.  I put him in charge of the kittens and the feral cat colony.  He feeds them and changes the litter box. I thought it was important to give him family responsibilities. He says cats are his favorite animals.

We had that problem with Rooter Roo, an older male cat who lived to be twenty two.  First off, they make special low ash cat foods for cats with urinary tract problems. Switch him to that right away.  Then replace his cat litter with torn up newspaper.  The dust from the cat litter irritates his bladder.  The vet may be able to give you something medical for the old guy. You are right, he is trying to tell you that he is having a problem. Roo would come squat and pee in front of me to tell me that he was hurting and needed help.
