Feeling Happy
Natural Bridge State Park
One of the days we drove over to Natural Bridge State Park and ate the buffet at their lodge. (It was a hundred and one degrees---too hot to cook over a campfire). The view from the lodge is very pretty, and we had a good time prowling through the gift shop. I bought a lovely carved walking stick, which came in handy all weekend to poke my kids in the butt.
Darren was enthralled with Fat Man's Misery, a place under the Natural Bridge that is very narrow and two slabs of stones. We always enjoy it, and it was cooler inside the rocks, too. There was a lovely bronze skink who let us watch him for quite a time. It was delightful to share some of our favorite places with the newest member of our family.
