Fun ones:  Clash of the Titans - I think this was the last full length feature film with Ray Harryhausen's stop-motion animations for special effects. He was one of the masters of the art in Hollywood of the 50s and 60s.  Also "Jason and the Argonauts". The Disney film "Hercules".  Aaaaah...drawing a blank. I know I am missing some good ones. I love Greek and Roman mythology.

YEAH!!, I can hopefully help you out. I've been reading your blog since Christmas and have come away with so many great ideas for teaching and living a good everyday life. Thanks so much for sharing.

This site has been great for giving me ideas for movies to help my daughter get a feel for the historical period we are studying. Not always historically accurate, but great for painting a picture of that time.  I have never had a problem finding them on Netflix. http://www.lovetolearnplace.com/Movies/

Oh, I forgot.  The Storyteller series was on HBO in the mid to late 80's and was created by the late 'Muppets' maker, Jim Henson.  Though it is not a Muppet show.  It is very good for kids Tabby and Darren (sorry if I spelled that wrong!) age, though Mandy may enjoy it as well....

Wow~I actually may be able to help YOU this time :)  This is one of my areas of interest.....

On mythology:  (These are movies for entertainment)

The 300 Spartans, The Spartans, Helen of Troy, Clash of the Titans (1 of my favorites), Crayola Kids Adventures: Trojan Horse, The Storyteller - Perseus and the Gorgon/Daedalus and Icarus, The Storyteller - Theseus and the Minotaur/Orpheus and Eurydice, The Odyssey & The Iliad (Homer), and Jason and the Argonauts

On ancient Greece: (Some are documentaries)

National Geographic's In the Shadow of Vesuvius, Great Cities of the Ancient World: Rome & Pompeii,  Great Cities of the Ancient World - Athens & Ancient Greece,  Greek Gods (from A&E), Ancient Mysteries: The Odyssey of Troy (A&E), and Empires - The Greeks: Crucible of Civilization (PBS)

Hope you find some useful :)
