Feeling Happy

Kentucky Down Under

I have so many pictures from the Australian themed park that I suggest clicking on view larger, and then slide show....I love how the ones of us interacting with all the animals turned out. You can see how much we love animals.

Kentucky Down Under is a theme "park" (more like a zoo) that is located in Cave Country. We love to visit there and interact with all the animals, especially the kangaroos and wallabies.  I do believe Shelby's favorites are the reptiles, though. She loved the corn snake and kept asking if we could get one. They are called corn snakes because the pattern of scales on their bellies looks like Indian Corn.

Welcome to Kentucky Down Under  has some fun activities in the children's section of the web page...how to build a bat house, make a boomerang, build "coral"...   Most of the people who worked there were young locals, with the soft lilting accents I grew up with.  They were very knowledgeable about the animals and justifiably proud of working with them.  We tipped generously.

Shelby has started collecting shot  glasses, not because she is a future alcoholic, but because she is enthralled with the tiny glasses. We bought her a few at various spots we visited. It is a cute little collection.

well, she USES the shot glasses to drink out of, and one has already cracked, so I think her collection will be rather self limiting. :-)

hee hee...be careful with collecting those shot glasses....they take on a life of their own after a while and every shelf is covered with them until you drive yourself insane trying to dust every one of them and.....err...  ok, needless to say, my hub had a shot glass collection that wound up in a box...LOL
