Feeling Happy

On televsion shows I watch

"Wees and I went to the Ridimans' house to watch Firefly. It was peaceful and fun and Kas showed us the scar from her hysterectomy and her new pouch. :-) We just relaxed. And they said amusing things. Once Mandy was like, in reference to Mal, "He's a jerk. A hot jerk." (Or something to that effect.) Funny, because I never thought Mal was much of a jerk. And I really don't know why. Anyway, we managed to get through "Shindig," which is one of my favorite episodes, and I would have loved to watch even more, but I had to stop and go home because it was late."

from Rachael's blog

Our Beloved Rachael  Hawkins (A former homeschooler now in college)     Rhapsody's End

I felt very urbane and With It last night as Julianne came in with her two Firefly buttons and everyone started discussing Firefly. Hmm, it is a change for me to actually know what is going on in television.

Short of 24, there is now not a television show on that I watch regularly. (24 should not count, since I always watch it a year later when it comes out on DVD.) It would figure that I have fallen for a series that is off the air. Still, I like watching television shows on DVD. No commercials, and I can watch the whole season when I want.  That is how we have watched the other strange show I now like, The Family Guy.

Sometimes we still watch Saturday Night Live, as my entire life with my husband is peppered with SNL references.  (When playing dinosaur with Shelby the other night, she pretended to bring me a fish she had caught, and I "ate it", mumbling, "Say! Now that's good bass!" to my husband.)

The girls still miss our brief foray into cable when the Iraq War started. (I wanted to watch CNN). They were bemoaning the loss of Degrassi from their lives last night. But in general, television just is not that important to us.

We are currently addicted to Scooby Doo cartoons, however, that we rent from Blockbuster.

Kas, I am glad you seem to be on the mend, but don't do too much too soon, you end up paying for it in pain and continued exhaustion. Words of wisdom from Ms Surgery here. It is nice to hear that things are settling down towards normal-ish, too. I watch alltogether too mch TV these days, but am trying to be gentle on myself anyway! Take care of your self. Margo

I will watch American Idol when it comes back on.  A few episodes here and there of Supernanny or Nanny 911 or Trading Spouses.  Mostly I watch PBS with the girls.  Oh yeah I love Scrubs too.  But it hasn't been on in forever.
    Maybe I'll go google Firefly.
We are having Emma's Star Wars party tonight.  Should be fun.
