Yesterday, I ventured out....

Yesterday I ventured out for the first time (except for a doctor's visit) since surgery. The library was having their book sale, and the temptation to load up on books was too great.

I did learn why they don't want me driving. DRIVING feels fine. BRAKING, now, braking feels like my incision is ripping open and something deep inside hurts very badly.  The library is only about two blocks from my house, but I had to drive to the bank to get money, too.

I won't be doing that again for a long time.  Owie. Owie. Owie.

Still, it was delightful to get lots of good books for little money. For sixteen dollars we got seven paper grocery bags stuffed full of books...and then came home and lolled happily about in front of the fire, reading and perusing all sorts of books...it was exceedingly gratifying.

Then, an hour before my husband was due to wake up, we hurried and shelved all of them in the library, so David would not know how many new books we had added to our collection.

Hehehehe.

Breaking, curves and bumps...oh my. LOL I remember that feeling. Like my incision would rip open and my guts would fall out. I don't look forward to that sensation at all. But it looks like I'll be experiencing it myself again soon.
