Feeling Mischievous

Rachael, our guest blogger, on Mandy's birthday party

From Rachael's Blog:

Now that I'm a bit less drunk (ahahaha...), I suppose I'll write a real update.

Today we went to Mandy's eighteenth (!) birthday party. I was surprised in that I actually enjoyed myself. The Ridimans just bought a horse, or are about to buy her, and they (well, Kas) waxed poetic about her for a good, long while. She sounds like a very lovely and very Ridiman horse. Kas said that it's like being a new grandmother and they want to get her all this special horse stuff (horse nail polish came up...).

Anyway, yeah, non-horse-related topics. People from writing group came and I had some brief, nice chats with Astrid and with Julianne. (I'm glad that I'm not the only one who thought The Fiery Cross dragged, but I seem to be the only one who hates Brianna. Once Mandy's gotten through Drums we'll see how she feels. Kas accused me of just being jealous because Lord John was so nice to Brianna in Drums. *g*) The lady from 7th St. Gifts was there (there are so many ways to spell this name, so I'm just going to put it down as Carrie, the most common)--she's so nice. I chilled, I had some wine (okay, for some reason I wanted a drink and there was some wine. I only had half a glass, I wasn't really drunk, for anyone who can't read my locked post), had some chips, it was fun.

I keep noticing that my posts about the Ridimans get shorter and shorter the longer I know them. I think it's because there are no words to convey all of the things they do or say, and I think that I may have to sneak a tape recorder into their house sometime just so I can take down a conversation and then record it here so that everyone knows just how amusing and just how Ridiman they are. :-)

We only stayed for a little more than an hour--I left when I was starting to get bored, and I suspect if I had stayed a lot longer, I wouldn't have enjoyed the party as much.
