Shopping for sunglasses :-)

I met a delightful young man with Down Syndrome at Krogers. I was waiting in line at the pharmacy, and he was there trying on myriad sunglasses off the glasses rack. He would admire himself for a minute in the mirror, and make the sweetest face smiling,
and then put them back and try on another pair. He tried every single pair on the rack. I'd say he was about thirty. He made my whole day with his gentle delight. I wish more people were able to take such joy in life. :-)

We decided on a very dashing pair that we thought made him look like an international spy. I joined him in trying on sunglasses, too, but my smile was not as great as his.

My ex's nephew is a down's 36 year old man. I used to babysit him and to this day when he sees me at a family gathering he gives me a big hug and asks me how I am. I think God made them the most happy people around! What a blessed day you had! rose
