Jack Kerley's new book signing

To be able to look back upon one's past life with satisfaction is to live twice.

-Marcus Valerius Martial

Our whole family is so proud of local author Jack Kerley. His third book just came out recently.  Jack was a former Tai Chi student of ours from when we taught Tai Chi at the local YMCA.  Then he bravely left his job and wrote a book---which was a best seller--The Hundredth Man.

The Hundredth Man

And now the third book in the series is out!  The books are about detectives and serial killers, and are downright scary with some weird twists in them. It makes you wonder what is going on behind those sweet mild eyes of Jack's.

A Garden of Vipers

Dave went fly fishing with Jack last week. Jack is a wonderful companion, well read, articulate, curious about at lot of things. Jack lives down here in the historic district, like Dave, a native son of Newport. It is so good to see a Local Boy Done Good.

It is always so wonderful to see someone pursuing their dream and making it! He is such an inspiration for my children.  And, sweetie that he is, he has promised to come to the girls' writing group. The kids are thrilled.

I always read the books first, reading favorite little bits out loud to Dave if they are not spoilers. We always laugh out loud because Jack is witty and funny. Dave does not read fiction---these three books are the only fiction books he has read in the twenty five years we have been together.

If any of you get the books and want them autographed, I can ask him to sign them for you...
