Feeling Hopeful
Hearing The Olympic theme playing in my mind
Junior Olympics
Today was our regional Junior Olympics---and my daughters did so well! This is a perfect example of how homeschooled children do not have to miss out on athletic events.

Dave was helping coach since he was a track star in high school.

Tabby and Mandy both followed in their father's footsteps (their father is the regional record holder in high jumping) and won gold metals in high jumping!

Mandy also won a third place metal in the region for the 200 yard.

Tabby won a third place metal for the 200 yard,

and another gold for the relay--where she took off so far with her little legs pumping that the other teams were almost a whole runner behind her!

Best friends--and first and second in the whole region!

Tabby jumped higher than her head! Her dad has jumped six feet and eight inches in high school (our college did not have a track team.)

Mandy taking off for her gold metal jump---in borrowed shoes that were a size too big--and jeans. (She was drafted into competing!)

Is there anything sweeter than little girls holding hands? The twins did very well, too. They rode with us and had dinner with us afterwards. I was so proud of how NICE "my" four girls did--they were so kind to the other girls they were competing with, always clapping and encouraging them, even when the Fort Thomas girl started trash talking. (She lost anyway.)

Dave's family joined us for the end of the Olympics and we cooked out at Tower Park. It was in the nineties and very hot.
