Frozen Niagra

When we went to Mammoth Cave, we were fortunate enough to have the same Forest Ranger as we had last year for your tour. He had taken a great liking to our girls--particularly Mandy--and remembered us from last time. He made sure that we rode the same bus out to the Frozen Niagra, and we stayed in line just behind him. He is very interested in the bat rehabilitation we do, and homeschooling, and the girls' interest in biology/geology/Floyd Collins.

A few minutes into the tour, while going down the very slick steps, I managed to fall several feet while still holding on to both hand rails. It really hurt.
Still, it was a great tour, made more poignant for me in that a little Cuban girl seized my hand about fifteen minutes into the tour and held my hand during the whole hour and a half long trip. I guess she decided I was a safe person, but the sweet trust of a small child is such a priceless gift.

You sure are getting around lately! Lots of fun places :). I hope you don't have any injuries from that fall.

Glad you all had such fun. We still haven't made it up there. Maybe next year.
