Hearing Shelby "reading" the Greedy Python to me
Fish!! and a great nephew!
I have to admit, I am trying to make it so attractive and fun up here that Ashley will come visit me more often. Her Uncle Dave is clearly in on the plot, making her favorite things to eat and slipping her fifty dollars for gas on the sly.
(I only found out when I told him I had bought her an aquarium pass and wanted to give her money for diapers. LOL)
Ashley and Dave talked about what it is like working in a hospital, and later Ashley told me that David is the only stable man she has had in her life. She has always adored David. He has always been tolerant and gentle with her, even when she used to drive us nuts with her shenanagins.
Dave grilled out buffalo burgers, and I made her favorite potato soup. Tabby babysat at night so Ashley and her boyfriend Ian and Mandy could go out on the town.
Tristan and Ashley loved the aquarium, and with their passes they came up two weeks later to visit it again. (The plot is working). Ashley has a child-like glee in certain situations, and I was so pleased to see her relaxing and really getting into all the animals at the aquarium. She was so tickled feeding the birds from the nector cups!
It was a perfect visit to the aquarium--the octopus was out and very active, and the river otters were also very active. It is fun to go with someone to whom it is all new...their excitement rubs off on you! My children love the aquarium, but they are very used to it after six years of membership.
Ashley also seemed to be enjoying meeting all my street kids that practically live with us...and she enjoyed watching Tabby and Sammy hang out together. She asked me if we had ever thought about being on a reality TV show...I am not sure if that is a compliment or not:::chuckling:::and she told me she thought we should try.

Oh, no, we wouldn't really do it...I can't imagine being filmed at all...and the family bed/nursing a four year old would leave us open to too much criticism that I couldn't bear...
