Feeling Happy

God's strongest daughter

I am a "heathen" (according to my Born Again relatives) non-church going person, a Quaker without a Meeting....but I think about God at last an hour or two a day. I can honestly say I FEEL God.

When Tabitha was about five, she wanted to go to the Baptist Church Down the  Vacation Bible School. (This is the church she now attends so ardently). We went for two days, and then I asked her what she thought of it, "Well, the crafts are fun, but there is too much Jay-zuzz stuff."

"Jay-zuzz?"

"You know, Jay-zuzz...What's a Jay-zuzz?"

I swallowed my giggle and said it was Jesus, not Jay-zuzz, and that many people thought he was the Only Begotten son of God. She looked at me and said, "Seriously?" (Tabitha really did talk like that at five.) I explained what Begotten was.  She said incredulously, "GOD HAD SEX?"  I gave up at that point. (She had heard of Jesus before that--of course--she just didn't recognize the accent.)

But she looked at me very seriously and said, "Mommy, I am God's Strongest Daughter."  The hair on my arms stood up. She really believed it. And in that moment, so did I.
