Feeling Happy

Irish step dancing

A love affair with knowledge will never end in heartbreak.

-Michael Garrett Marino

We got this email from Julianne.  Tabby has long been enchanted by Irish step dancing, and I am so glad that this reasonable opportunity is open!  The other place in town literally costs thousands, since they require elaborate wigs and costumes....

Hey,

We're very excited that Hazel Donnelly, the nice lady from Dublin, is
again teaching Irish Dance.  : )

When: Wednesdays, Jan 25th to March 29th - Ten week session
Time: 5pm to 6 pm
Cost: $80, can be paid in two $40 installments
Where: Corryville Recreation Center

We took Irish Dance from Hazel a while back, before she took time off to have her baby.  She is very good with the kids, and True and Liam both enjoyed it very much.  We marched in the St. Patrick's Day parade, and performed at the Wyoming Fine Arts center's Sampler weekend.

She does not require all the expensive gear - the kids dance in their socks or bare feet if you don't want to get the shoes.   Hazel also
works with the Celtic Rhythm Dancers - the adult group you may have seen performing at various venues.  That's when Liam decided he wanted to dance too - when he saw the men do the hard shoe number with no music - sounded like thunder.  : )

We'll be taking this class, and I know at least two other Homeschool
families are planning on joining us.

Julieanne

    Hi Kas,

I was wondering if you are still near Northern Kentucky near Cincinnati.  I am a member of the Weavers Guild of Greater Cincinnati, and we have designed a series of fiber arts classes for homeschooled teens.  If you or someone you know would be interested, please email me at fiberartsteen@mac.com for more info.  I'm trying to reach as many people as I can.  The Guild website is www.weaversguildcincinnati.org, and the class list and registration form is available there.  Thanks for any help and interest!
