Feeling Happy

Vaulting pictures

During the winter months the girls practice their horseback vaulting on a barrel with grips on it like the vaulting saddle.  They practice mounting, dismounting, spinning around, standing up--and then later they will do the same thing on the back of a cantering Belgian mare.

That brings back memories!  We used to teach a limited amount of vaulting at the camp I worked at.  I never did any but the kids enjoyed it.  I'll have to blog about the one of the girls fell under the horse and I was lunging said horse!  It ends well, thank goodness.
