Feeling Sad

The Middle East Unit Study

Blessed are the PEACEMAKERS,
for they shall be known as the Children of God.But I say to you that hear, love your enemies,do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you ,pray for those who abuse you.To those that strike you on the cheek, offer the other one also,
and from those who take away your cloak,
do not withhold your coat as well.

Give to everyone who begs from you,and of those who take away your goods,do not ask for them again. And as you wish that others would do to you,do so to them.

Jesus Christ

We have started officially studying this war, torture, war prison camps, and other difficult subjects relating to what is going on in the Middle East.

I am currently reading "The Last True Story I Will Ever Tell:  An accidental soldier's account of the war in Iraq" by John Crawford.

Mandy is reading Jarhead (we saw the movie), which is about the first Gulf War.

We are also examining the Susan Matthew's book Prisoner of Conscience, which is about the abuse of power in a military prison.

We also watched Munich, which was about the slaughter of the Israeli Olympic team by terrorists, and how the righteous became terrorists themselves in seeking retribution.

Thank you and your family for doing this Kas, it is so hard as a military mom and a pacifist to deal with this...I'm not sure if you read this entry in my blog over a year ago when he left for basic:

Okay, so this has nothing to do with your entry, but I suck at communication of all kinds. I never call people, I never write, and I rarely leave comments. Sometimes I'll want to, but I'll read the entry and then forget to comment later, or I'll be thinking about what I want to say and wait too long before commenting. I know you love comments! I just suck at them! And I never know what to say! I check your journal at least once a day (sometimes more often) and I always read what you have to say even if I don't leave a comment. I love you! I wanted to chat with you on Sunday about fanfic but you were asleep. I even checked in on you twice but you were completely KO'd. Mandy said I should wake you but I was afraid to. Anyway, I have pictures from Tabby's party if you'd like me to e-mail them to you, and I still want writer's group and to hang out with you! And I love you! :-)

(PS: Just to clarify, I didn't feel badly about your comment or anything. I'm just trying to explain why I never leave comments and hence suck. *g*)
