The "Real" Hollywood Image
A couple of comments left on some entries got me thinking...people have Many different views of Hollywood and the Image stars portray. Whats it all about anyway? you've got Britney and Mariah and Christina among others..all singers who started off as the "girl next door" image and then slowly over the years the pieces of clothing came off. is it true that "Sexy images Sell?" yes i believe so! but I also believe there is alot more to it than that! as much as you can "make fun" of someone for being a "Britney" fan you know yourself there is just something about her that gets your attention, not just her image or her clothes or lack of..but her personality, her life, her "new" marriage..you find yourself waiting in line at the supermarket picking up the enquirer and flipping to the "britney story".
Christina was once a Genie in a bottle and and now people say she's X-tina as in rated X...is she selling her body or her mind??? good question for anyone who had bought her Album "Stripped" i am one of those people...and the album is not just about getting all "Dirrty" it's about her life, her abusive dad, her feelings on calling women names for having a "colorful" shall we say personal life. to me it's not her body she was selling but her heart..and her mind. these are just 2 stars that get trash talked for what they sell or what they Don't sell...there are many in Hollywood. Kelly Osbourne got it all for being chubby...she isn't Britney or Pink or any supermodel but she is Kelly...Chubby is okay! chubby can be cute! on the other side of things these are all people who have jobs to entertain us...Britney wears some outrageous stuff on stage...as did Madonna..however i beleive you must view these outfits as "costumes" do you see Britney,Christina and others such as Madonna wearing gaurder belts and thongs when they are photographed for People Magazine or the Star? no you see them in sweat pants and tee shirts or jeans and a jacket...It's entertainment, it's Show! the world sometimes idolizes hollywood stars....but in reality they are normal people with a job to entertain the world. if you sit down and have lunch with most stars they will talk about normal everyday things that anyone can realte too. And didn't Christina once sing..."We are all Beautiful, No Matter What they say"? I love hollywood as much as anyone else....i give them credit for working extremely hard day in and day out to impress us and sell an image. and last but not least..some of these stars have grown up in front of our very eyes...and growing up included "finding yourself" and trying new things..we went through it all..the only difference is we didn't do it in the public Eye! what we did wasn't a part of the "Hollywood Image"

Everybody in Hollywood has an image. It is just a "costume" youre right. No matter who you are and what you do in Hollywood you are sure to get some kind of shit for it. This was very interesting!

Well, I agree with you that to some point their image's can be costumes. But I think when you have a young fan base such as Christina and Brittany, maybe you should dress somewhat better. I know that when my daughter grows up, i wouldnt want her watching them and wanting to imatate them. Writing and singing and performing is a diffrent thing. Dressing "Dirty" is not what would make me but their cd's. Their words, their lifes, their storeis is what made me buy them. I have all Britney's cd's and i have christina's previous cd's and they are awesome. But after she went that way, it turned me off, to some point. I think that they have enough talent to not have dress and sell their music with their bodies. Again this is just my opionon though. I love the pic and Pink is cool too!

Brittany I cant agree with you more.........but if you think about the fact that brittany and christina both were very young when they started and they were I am sure formed into the girl next door girls and when they grew up they wanted to do their own thing......
Brittany has been acting out so much that I can see to where people would get the wrong idea of her!!!!! Though I still love her!!!!!!! Christina on the other hand just broke out and went from innocent to trashy to beautiful...........
everyone has to go through all the changes in life to make us who we are!!!!! Why do so many people get on them when madonna did it in the 80's and no one talks about that :)
