The Boston Bartenders
Boston's a smaller town than I could ever have imagined.
I invited a bunch of the Boston nominees for drinks at the bar at Julien in the Langham Hotel and, as each new bartender arrived, inevitably the majority of the group already sitting at the bar would start shrieking and clapping (granted, the martinis may have had something to do with it). For the most part, everyone already knew each other -- either as friends, acquaintances or by reputation -- and my "organized introduction" quickly de-evolved into an all-out toasting fest between friends, with me just trying to keep up. I actually had to leave after a couple of hours to eat dinner downstairs at Julien, but the bartenders stuck it out for a while longer having a grand old time, even calling across the restaurant and waving as they left the hotel.
Bottom line, the best part about these Boston hotties is that they know how to have a good time and also know how to loop you into it. The real proof? I ended up with some of them again the next night, laughing and toasting at Pho Republique, with Liam behind the bar.
