Not a bad day...

Well, all things considered, this did not turn out to be an entirely bad day.
I went in a little later than I'd planned and stopped at the Christopher Banks' store at Fashion Island and bought that little black vest that I saw yesterday. I didn't even bother to let her put it in a bag. I paid for it and wore it out of the store. It worked out great, it looked very nice and was only $10. It was perfect. And it stayed cool almost all day so I was able to wear a light mock turtleneck with my dress pants. It went as planned.
I picked up my crazy friend and gave her a little unbirthday gift. Her birthday was yesterday but that turned out to be a diaster for her (when I called her she was boo-hooing) so I tried to be nice and not pick on her too much. If I am too nice, she get suspicious so... I picked on her a little bit.
After her therapy session, we went to have lunch at the Foxfire Grill, a really nice upscale bar and restaurant in Harbison. I had the shrimp and grits which were very rich and totally delicious. She had a pimento cheese burger. The lunch was quite good although the service was a bit slow. But we were not in a rush so the slow service was not a big problem.
After lunch, we stopped at Dick's Sporting Goods. (Great store unfortunate name.) I looked at tents and I think I would like to get a new one. I am perfectly happy with a Coleman. Hubby says he will buy me one in May. That's fine. That was it. We didn't buy a thing. We just wandered around and touched stuff. There wasn't time to go to Sportsman's Warehouse.
We made a quick trip to Earth Fare where she bought a bunch of stuff. I bought a can of organic beans and some green chilies. I had some nice chicken and some leftover tortillas. I wanted to make burritos for dinner.
That was pretty much it. She was not terribly annoying (just the usual annoyingness) and I was not beating her over the head the way I usually do.
We went and collected Cookie from Day Care. Hubby had dropped her off there earlier in the day and went to his eye doctor appointment. She was glad to see us but she always enjoys day care., They played with her today and they even weighed her. She has lost 1 lb which is good news. I guess those long walks in the park have been doing something.
When I got home, hubby was here and he washed and cleaned his car (only because I told him, asked him, whatever......because it was so dirty inside and out, I could not stand it anymore).
I made the burritos and they were quite yummy/ Those organic beans I got were actually very tasty. I was surprised.
And that was my day. I am getting a little sleepy now. I hope I don't have another night like last night. I tossed and turned and could not sleep. I finished my book. I was miserable. This continued until 4:30 until I finally fell asleep and woke up at a little past 7:00. I got everyone fed and taken care of, and got out of here at about 9:45. It all worked out fine.
And I am just about ready to go to bed even though it is early.
Good night. It is warm and stuffy right now. I need something cold to drink. I will NOT be cranking the trusty electric blanket up to "7" tonight.
30 lbs. I wonder if I could lose 30 lbs? That seems like a lot. I think a better goal would be 10% of my current body weight. That is doable. No more shrimp and grits though. Hmmmmmmmmmmm.
