Tomatoes and other stuff

Well, in spite of a totally dreary overcast, miserable rainy day, it turned out to be very pleasant and we got a lot done.

We couldn't take Cookie to the park so we left her at home and headed in to Fashion Island for lunch and a little bit of shopping. We had lunch at the Which 'Wich place. I was glad we went there because my stomach was a little bit broken and I don't mind there sandwiches when my stomach is upset because I can get them EXACTLY the way I want them. I had shrimp and it was very good.

After lunch, we went to that little store called Christopher Banks. I got a vest there yesterday and I wanted another one. They were having a 40% off sale (on everything including stuff that was already on sale). I got a nice purple vest and a really nice matching long sleeved t-shirt for only $16. (I plan on going back tomorrow and getting another t-shirt. They are super nice and only $6.)

Even though it was pouring with rain we stopped at Home Depot and bought tomato plants. (The garden plants are all outside so we got wet looking around). And I got zucchini and yellow squash plants as well. I just got a couple of plants because those things grow like WEEDS out here in the sand and if you put in more than a couple of them, you are totally overrun with squash by July.

We also stopped at Target. I wanted one of those Champion sports bras that are super comfortable and reasonably priced. I got a black one. We looked around a little more. For some reason, we always have to look at the camping gear, the knives and the flashlights when we are there.........

That was it. It poured all day and it is STILL pouring right now. I hope this rain lets up by tomorrow. I am supposed to go to a play tomorrow afternoon. I hate going out in the rain. Ugh. I think it will clear up.

It was very quite when we got home and there wasn't too much to do. When there was a little break in the rain, I ran out and planted my two tomato plants. They seem very happy. Then I fed everyone (including the new goldfish who seem to be doing remarkably well). Happily, I noticed that someone had come and taken almost half of our manure pile.for fertilizer for their garden  I was glad of that. It was getting pretty big.

I made pork chops and sweet potatoes for Hubby's dinner. I had half a sweet potato and the left over burrito filling from last night. It was actually very good. I enjoyed it.

Now we are watching SpongeBob (one of our favorite default settings on the TV>)_

Tomorrow? I won't be going to the gym. I tried to figure out a way but it just won't work because of the matinee I am going to. I plan on going in, having a little lunch on my own, maybe shopping a little, (although I got everything I needed today). and then going to the play.

I also discovred that a little Swiffer dusting cloth works VERY well on my laptop keyboard. I bought one today and it works great.  I was able to get all the dust and crud off it without whacking out the keys. All the crud in the little nooks and crannies was driving me crazy.

That's it...........Even though it was pouring and dreary and felt like fall, it was a nice, productive day.
