Doggie Wednesday
Well, this turned out to be a very pleasant day. After I burned a bunch of branches and trash in the burn barrel, I finally got out of the house at about 10:30 and took Cookie to the park for a nice walk. Even though she hates riding in the Adventure Car (my noisy, open Jeep), she was excited to go.
We had a very nice walk. There was a busload of school kids on a field trip but they were busy chasing butterflies with the park ranger so they didn't bother us.
As usual, we had a slow start but it was a nice walk. When we got to the Cliff Diving/Badger pond, we surprised a bunch of deer that were there getting a drink. I could not tell how many there were because once they took off, all I could see were white tails and hooves scrambling to get back into the woods.
Once we got back, we took a spin through the campground just to see who was there and it was VERY quiet. This is actually the best time to stay there. There were a couple of big RV's, two trailers and just one lonely tent person.
We stopped at Maurice's for lunch. I had a Jr. Piggy platter and gave Cookie the BBQ pork. She are every bite of it as well as the two dog biscuits that the lady at the drive-thru gave her. I ate the rice and hash and cole slaw. It was VERY good and better than anything I would have had at Sonic.
I stopped at PetSmart and was going to get the little life vest for Cookie so we could take her in a canoe but the last "small" one that I saw yesterday was gone. All they had left were medium and x-sm. The clerk said they'd be getting more next week. I'll get her one then. At least now I know it will fit her.
On the way back, I stopped at the vet's office and picked up someflea and tick stuff for them. Every time we take her to the park. she comes home with ticks so I guess it is time to put that stuff on. I also think it is time to start carrying a stick on our walks because it is getting warm enough for the snakes to be out sunning themselves and I don't want to surprise any of them!
That was it....it turned out to be a beautiful, warm, sunny day/ Cookie is resting on her shelf under the television and I am going to make a nice hot cup of coffee for myself. It was a very pleasant day
