Happy Thoughts

LOL...well this actually looked like us this weekend. We went out to the park yesterday and went on our usual two mile hike but after that we got a canoe and paddled around the lake for a little while. We took Cookie with us and she was funny. We bought her a little life vest which she was a bit unsure of but we didn't want to take her in the boat without it because we didn't know what she was going to do. Well, much to our surprise she sat quietly in the canoe and just watched as we paddled around. I am sure part of that was because she was very hot and tired but she did very very well. She was very puzzled by her little life vest. The park ranger thought it was really funny.  We were pleased and we will definitely take her out again. It was fun. I haven't paddled a canoe in ages.

That was pretty much it for Friday. Today, we stayed home most of the day. I got a little bored around lunchtime so hubby and I drove to Fashion Island for a little while. We had sandwiches for lunch and went to the bookstore. It was just a nice break.

Later in the afternoon, I actually laid down for a little while and took a short nap (something I RARELY do) and then I watched "Tarantula" on the SciFi channel. It's a pretty good '50s movie. I enjoyed that. I tried watching "The Mephisto Waltz" (1971 with Alan Alda) but it moved slower than a Hammer film so I gave up on that one.

We had a yummy dinner of rice and corn bread and leftover chili. It was actually very good. And I didn't have to cook.

Now it's quiet. I gave up on the movies and now I am watching old I Love Lucy episodes on  the TV Land channel. It tried to rain but never quite got up the gumption to do anything.

That's it. Iwill try and go to the gym tomorrow. Gas has hit $3.40 here so I will have to be a lot more careful about where I go. But I would like to make it to the gym.

Okay...gotta go for now.

It was a fun day yesterday with Cookie in a canoe!

  I'll bet Cookie was cute.  It's been years since I've been in a canoe.  Maybe this summer.  Gas prices here are $3.55.  It's gonna get worse by summer.  Have a great Sunday.
