Golf, anyone>?

Okay...I lost my original entry about this so I will make this one short and sweet. I pulled out my old golf clubs this morning. I cleaned them up and they are perfectly fine. I went to the local public course and checked the prices for greens fees (they are remakably reasonable $8 for 9 hole) and I got the number of a teaching pro.
I used to play years ago and I loved it. I wasn't too bad at it actually. I tried to get my husband to play but that went no where. But I think I will ask him if he will give it another try.
I go with him every week to shoot. I worked hard, I learned about guns and I go every single week to the range that reeks of gunpowder and testosterone. I even shot competetively for a while. But that is his thing. I always has been.
I would really like to do something that I enjoy and I don't want him telling me "That's fine, you go ahead and do what ever you want." I would like him to make a little effort and try doing something I like. It is not expensive. Nine holes of golf would cost the same a a box of 50 rounds of 9mm ammo. He has been walking 4 miles every day and we can walk while we play golf. I will even BUY him a set of used clubs. I just want him to make the effort to try something that I like.
Does any of this seem unreasonable?
I think golf is something that we can take up even though we are in our 60's I am not asking to learn to Bungee jump or go cliff diving. I am going to talk to him tonight. I think I can get him to understand that I am just going nuts here and I need to do SOMETHING>>. And I want him to make the at least the same effort that I made learning to shoot.

Nope...you are not unreasonable at all. It sounds like a perfect idea to me and as you said you do things that may not be high on your list but you still do them. Good luck with it, I hope he takes it up.
My one golf experience ended with me being tossed out...yep...I nailed a man in the back with my ball and found it amusing (he wasn't hurt). Management did not see the humor and we were asked to leave. :(
