"As I lounge about my beachfront estate near Laguna Beach, California, I sometimes like to recall how miserable the cold weather of the midwest, the north and the northeastern parts of this country is. Having just watched one of the best descriptive visuals of how the cold weather can try our patience--and freeze our arteries--if we succumb to the wishes of our pets, I feel fortunate that I am in a mild climate with a panoramic view of the Pacific Ocean always just a nod away. Oh, some will say, "you will someday fall off into the ocean...when the big one hits." And I say, "True, no doubt the day will come when I will feel the beach shake and tremble....and....hold on, my drink just turned over. Oh, it was my cat....no, no it wasn't. Oh, no! Well, look at that will you...the water is moving out...far away from the shore...so, now, yes, we can go down and find all of the things we have lost along the shore. My, my...you ought to see how far out the water is going. Damn, clear beyond the horizon. Hey, there's that shrimp boat that people thought was sunk at sea. It's way out there...well, well, it is not everyday that this kind of thing happens. One thing is sure, people will be able to go out and pick up some free fish before the tide comes back in. Somehow...this does not seem right. No, it is just an early outgoing tide, but that noise...now, now it is so still. And now I see people and hear people calling their pets...seems like there are some curious pets going out to catch some of the free fish...Well, anyway, as I was saying, we don't have to suffer from the cold weather here. Now, listen, I hear this big sucking sound, a swhishing sound...what the_________?"
