"I WAS NOT AWARE THERE WAS ANOTHER PERSON AS FOND OF CLAY POTS AS I AM," STATED EARL R. STONEBRIDGE AT THE INTERNATIONAL CLAY POT ASSOCIATION MEETING HELD IN AN UNDISCLOSED AREA OF THE FAR EAST LAST MONTH. ALTHOUGH EARL WAS UNABLE TO STAY FOR ANY LENGTH OF TIME, HE HAS STATED THAT HE WAS ALLOWED TO FETCH SAMPLES OF THE AREA'S CLAY AND GIVEN CLEARANCE FOR ITS RETURN AND ENTRY INTO THE UNITED STATES. HE BELIEVES THAT THE LOAM WILL BE ABLE TO BE DUPLICATED AND CREATED ARTIFICIALLY AND THUS PROVIDE AN ALMOST PERFECT CLAY FOR FLOWER POTS. "IT IS GOING TO BE BIG, VERY BIG," EARL COMMENTED, "AND I WANT TO BE ONE OF THE AMERICANS WHO IS ON THE GROUND FLOOR." HIS COMMENT CREATED A BIT OF HUMOR WHICH ADDED A TOUCH OF HUMBLENESS TO THE DOWN TO EARTH AFFAIR.

Days can go by, day after winter day in the cold and gray days of this least favorite season of mine here on the Midwests great plains and I question my reason for spending time away from coasts where the sun shines nearly every day. However, one glance at my grandchildren ad I remember why I came back to visit and stayed.
