All About Me

Having been chosen by the Creator of the Universe to be one among billions of other individuals on this earth at this specific time makes me greatful and thankful for each new day. The beauty of it all is more than my mind can comprehend. Thus, what more can I say? What more can I do? I can try to make some positive contribution to this world. Had it not been for those who desired to live positive, inventive lives before me, I might never have gained any wisdom other than primordal instincts. Had we been created with all of the knowledge and technical abilities back at the dawning of time, we might not have made it this far. It is my belief that each individual is spiritually complete within their own minds and bodies and are not compelled to utter oaths or vows of allegiance or belief to any other mortal being who dwelled in the past or dwells in the present. That is to say every human on earth should be allowed the freedom to make their own decisions without recourse unless those decisions jeopardize the freedom of another or others. Wouldn't it be wonderful, then, if the world was not divided and regimented into hateful and spiteful groups of those who believed in oranges or apples as the one and only true fruit. How peaceful this world would be if those who believed the banana was supreme would give the orange and apple believers a big hug and a basket of mixed fruit. Hey, like that's me, that's my way of telling you "all about me" today. Tomorrow is not mine to predict. It's possible that "corn" may rule, or "turnips." Stranger things have happened here on Earth. Trains, planes, ships and cars are my favorite modes of transportation.

IS THERE ANYONE WHO HAS NOT HEARD OF THE DRINK CALLED TOM COLLINS? THANKS, I THOUGHT ALL READING THIS HAD HEARD THE NAME. NOW, ABOUT THE MARTINI. YOU KNOW THAT IT WAS INITIALLY DISCOVERED OR CONCOCTED (also spelled CONCOCKTED) BY A GUY NAMED MARTIN AND A GAL WHO TOLD HIM HER NAME WAS TINA. THE NEXT MORNING, THEY BEGAN TELLING THE WORLD ABOUT THE MARINI. WHERE IS THIS LEADING? THE DRINK, HARVEY WALLBANGER, THAT'S WHERE. CAN YOU GUESS HOW ANYONE CAME UP WITH THE NAME OF HARVEY WALLBANGER? I THOUGHT NOT. THE ENGINEER IN THE OLD PHOTO OF THE LOCOMOTIVE ABOVE HAPPENED TO BE NAMED HARVEY. HE WAS A BRITISH FELLOW, TEACHING THE CHINESE HOW TO RUN THEIR TRAINS ON SCHEDULE. IT SEEMS AS THOUGH THERE WAS A SECTION OF THE "GREAT WALL" THAT CAUSED A DELAY IN THE TIMETABLE. TO REMEDY THAT PROBLEM, HARVEY TOOK A FEW SIPS OF _________AND ONE LONG SIP OF _______; HE LIKED THE WAY THEY TASTED AND POURED AN ENCORE IN A GLASS, STIRRED AND HAD ANOTHER. THUS, WITH A BLAZING SPIRIT OF DETERMINATION, HARVEY ACCUMULATED A FULL HEAD OF STEAM AND LAID ON THE WHISTLE. THE DAY THE HARVEY WALLBANGER WAS CREATED. THANKS FOR READING THIS. EARL R. STONEBRIDGE

IT IS DIFFICULT TO MAKE A COMMENT ON OUR INVOLVEMENT IN IRAQ AFTER 9/11.

THE ONE COMMENT THAT I CAN MAKE THAT DOES NOT CREATE CONFUSION IS THIS: I AM SORRY THAT THESE MEN AND WOMEN OF OUR ARMED FORCES ARE NO LONGER ALIVE AND ENJOYING THEIR FAMILIES AND THE BLESSINGS OF THEIR HOMES HERE IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.

MY HEART IS HEAVY FOR THOSE THEY LEFT BEHIND.

I MUST LEAVE THE CAUSE OR CAUSES, THE MORALITY AND THE POLITICS OF THIS WAR TO THOSE WITH HIGHER POWERS.
