The OLD LAS VEGAS

Remembering some of my first times in Las Vegas...by Robert L. Huffstutter...the web site below is not mine but one I found when Davelaf mentioned the old neon signs of Las Vegas. His photos of some old signs inspired me to gather some of my thoughts about the Las Vegas I saw in 1960, my first trip there and subsequent trips to this desert miracle after returning to the USA after a tour of duty in the Orient. Beginning in 1960 and then from 1964 throughout the late 70s, I made numerous trips.

"So, like you feel that mind over matter dictates pleasure and that geographical location serves only as the stage for mental energy to create a suitable backdrop or set?"

Earl chuckled and explained the confusion. She was somewhat embarassed about confusing us; she apologized and continued in the error of her ways.
"Lesson one," I said to her, "never assume anything.
