Vintage Valentine Tags

My Vintage Valentine Tags...21 of these...

Ready to ship to Heather, who will collect all 21 sets .  Then she will make 21 new variety sets for us!  What a fun swap!  I'm really excited to see everyone's artwork in vintage Valentine tag form.

Here's a close-up:

And the back:

Thank you to everyone who ordered my "Heart Felt" brooches from my Etsy store!  I've had fun making these, as well as packaging them to arrive in your hands with love and care.  You can still order them from my store!  Here's a couple of the ones I sent out today:

I posted a picture of a glass container mercury glass set at Christmas in which I had filled with pretty pink glass ornaments.  In the center I had place a strand of white lights.  I enjoyed it all through the Christmas season.  When I took the pink bulbs out I decided to see how it looked if I filled it with some of {large} collection of cookie cutters.  I liked how it looks,  it's casts a special glow at night.  Here's it is:

The thing about this container is....  Years ago the family was shopping at an antique shop up in Newport.  There were two of these containers (they are large) on the floor in someones's section, and Mr. Big Foot accidently kicked one as he was walking in that section.  It made a huge noise as it broke, the glass pieces crashing all around his feet.  He was so embarrassed.  I remember Jessica and I took one look at who broke this (Mark) and we RAN TO THE OTHER SIDE of the store!  I did retreat back to my poor husband...it turns out we offered to buy the remaining whole piece, (pictured above with my cookie cutters).  $45, for the the set...of which we only brought one home.  The bottom piece is mercury glass, and as far as I know it was to hold candles, but must have been a big candle!  That's the story of this container.  In case you wanted to know.  Or not.

It's cheaper to break things in thrift stores.  I speak from experience.  I've broken a thing or two in the thrift stores, you know, you walk by the pictures and one just falls and shatters.  The thing is, I always offer to pay for it, and they always say "no".  Not in antique stores!  You break it, you buy it!  So, as far as thrift store shopping....I've got my pictures lined up ready to show on Monday, for Cindy's Virtual Thrift Shopping event!

Dolly's "Vintage Heart Swap" is in full swing!  She sent my partners information the other day, and my partner is Diana, from "A Day in the Country with Farmer Di" blog.  Go say "Hi"!  I'm just about ready to package up that swap, a load of fun...a load of heart!

Have a great Sunday!

Blessings!

Love your tags and I can't wait for my brooch to arrive!  The story about the container made me smile and cringe!  That must have been embarassing but it was a good thing in the end - the container is quite a lovely and unique piece!

Precious is all I can say!  Too precious are the tags, the hearts, the packaging, the cookie cutters under glass, all of it! :O)
