Snow to sun to rain... BLINGED BIRDHOUSE and BUTTONS

At 8 AM today it was snowing here on the southern Oregon coast:

SAME DAY: This afternoon Mark and I took my, I mean our, red jeep to the beach, by 3 PM it turned into a gorgeous day, sunny skies, although still a tad chilly:

We had a blast, I took a ton of photos but will just show a couple.

The tide was "minus" which means EXPLORING things we NEVER get to see.  We went around a bend then we've never been around before, and found a spot where there were thousands of star fish.  This was a precious couple, I imagine they've stuck together through good and bad weather, like today!:

Now to back up a little:

Last week Jessica and I went to California to visit my parents, and family. Jessica had a blast with her cousins, they even took her shopping in San Francisco one day!  My enjoyment was seeing everyone, especially my parents, who are doing very well.  They stay healthy, walking everyday and still working hard at the church they pastor (my dad is 81!)  It was absolutely awesome to see them in action, they are such an inspiration, and they truly want to reach those in their community to tell of the love of Jesus.

I did manage to get to a couple stores.  One was a thrift store down the street from my parent's house, where I bought this pink teapot, I didn't think I could live without it!:

I missed a lot here in blogland while I was gone.  One was the Bling Your Birdhouse, by Beth and Karla.  Here's the birdhouse I had blinged:

Another blogland activity was/ the "Button Challenge", an fun event by Analise.  All I had time to do was take a photo of {part} of my button collection.  Now, remember, I never pass up any buttons at thrift stores or garage sales:

Another thing happening in blogland is the announcement that the new Somerset Home magazine is out!  I don't have my copy, but hope to find an issue this week.  I read on Jenny's blog that SHE is featured!  And others we read and love are also included, so I will find my copy ASAP!

While Jess & I were away, my husband Mark started a MAJOR construction project on our home.  I've complained and whinned for years that I want a front door and this was my lucky week!  He started the project and now is in full swing.  We looked at doors yesterday and I picked one out:

It's a long story as to why we don't have a front door, but if you know us you know how to get in.  If you don't know us, you can knock all day, but good luck finding the right door to get in!

I have lots of blog reading to do now, I'm way behind on my blog reading!  Hope all is going well for each and everyone of you!

Blessings!

Well congrats. on the "New" front door, I'm sure you are going to like having one, I guess you could call it one of the comforts of Home. I love surprises like that my hubby is great on the home projects. A great button collection! Stop by and visit.
    Hugs, Diane

I'm envisioning the UPS man (or woman) trying to figure out how to get you your packages!  LOL.  The door looks lovely - sounds like quite an undertaking - yay Mark!  Love the birdhouse.  The starfish photo is awesome.
