Spent before it arrived: Kicker Check
I heard a rumor that we're supposed to get a federal "kicker check". Hey kick it our way, I said! We can spend it many times over, that's for sure. However, we decided we need to replace our riding lawn mower, which cut it's final blade of grass last fall. Off to Lowes/HomeDepot we went to shop for new riding lawn mowers. I won't even tell you which store we bought the new lawn mower at, but I will say I was happy with the purchase, as it was yellow! So, now Mark can mow all our grass. And I can watch the mailbox for the promised kicker check to pay for the freshly cut grass! In case you wonder why we need a riding lawn tractor, just take a look at this next photo. This is me riding around our front "yard" on our 4-wheeler, with our little grandson, the two year old John Mark! He loves riding around like this! (Don't worry, I go slow...enough...):

It's been a busy week here. Actually, it's week two of Mark working on the new front door construction project. (His mill has been off for two weeks.) In order to make an entry area, somehow he designed a pretty good size storage room to boot! It all has to do with the fact that our main living area is on our second floor. Our home was designed to face out into our beautiful valley, and the view is better from the second floor! I'll show pictures of this project soon.
Today I shipped off this custom sign:

It's very challenging to paint off-white on black, but I love how it turns out!
Also this week I made a few "special" tags, for various projects I have going on. Here's a couple of them...
A birds nest tag (a special gift for a special girl):

And a sea shells tag (went with the sign, "She Sells Seashells"):

Time for a pizza run! Have a great weekend!
Blessings!

Love that seashell tag. I was in a tag making mood this weekend - see my blog:

And I found some tiny shells when I was cleaning out my desk. I don't even know how I got them. But I saved them, 'cause I knew I'd find something to do with them. Maybe I'll make a tag with some of our recent beach photos!
Have a great Monday,

Heidi! I can't believe I found your blog. Sue told me a while ago you had one, but I just thought to check! This is like gold to me, I love crafting! Daniel always laughs about it, but I am so excited, I am adding this to my favorites! Ruby!
