Gone in a New York Minute

At this point, I think the entire Eagles squad is beyond frustrated, especially after falling to 0-4 in the division.

And so are the fans... The Eagles needed to beat the Skins, the Cowboys and the Giants in successive weeks to set themselves up for a playoff run. Not only were they unable to win all of those games, they were unable to win a single one of them. This is not the Eagles team that we are used to seeing take the field. They look defeated before they even have a chance to give up a couple first quarter touchdowns. So what now?

First of all, McNabb needs to have his damn surgery already. The man is the walking wounded. It was a step in the right direction to sit him for the Giants game but let's admit that barring a complete meltdown of the two teams sitting atop the NFC East, the Eagles will be hanging up their pads at the end of the regular season. Wow, it feels like 1999 all over again.

I wrote many entries ago that McNabb should have been shelved as soon as he got injured. Suffer through four or five games without him (mind you, the bye week would have been included there). People told me I was nuts, that the Eagles can't chalk up a win without McNabb. Look where we are now. We're late in the season and we're minus our franchise QB. He would have been back by now and would not have sustained subsequent injuries to his groin and ribs. Sigh. I need to stop living in the past.

I welcome comments from my fellow Pigskin Bloggers who have discovered a coping mechanism for making it through the rest of the season once your team has been effectively eliminated from the playoffs. Do I sell the rest of the season rather than endure a six-hour roundtrip voyage to the City of Brotherly Love for the rest of our home games? I know, I sound like a fairweather fan but I'm reeling. I'm used to a tradition of excellence laid out by Andy Reid & Co. and I've believed in it since he arrived in Philly six short years ago. I'm a snot, I'm used to winning!

Now, instead of answers, only questions surround this team. Not to worry, I'll be in my seat, Section 235 Row 10, next year. But as for the remainder of this year, there's only one thing left to say. LET'S GO FLYERS!

Hey there, the Eaglea have just fallen apart. Don't get me wrong, I'm still the biggest fan but this year has just been a huge disappointment. There is still no other team that will ever have more of my respect than Philly but this year was just horrible. Some good things that have come out of this year are the emergence of Reggie Brown and Ryan Moats so they will play some roles in the later year of this franchise. Another good thing from this year is that we have discovered is that we have a running game. So, hopefully Brian Westbrook and Ryan Moats will be a bigger part of the Eagles offensive threat in years to come. Now, we just need to add another big reciever along with Reggie Brown who will be real good with more experience and we are set. Goign from ten pro-bowlers to just oen in Jeremiah Trotter is pretty pathetic.
AS you can see, I'm back to my blogging ways, cya....http://journals.aol.com/zbar88/callingtheshots/

A coping mechanism, hmmmmmmmmm? The Chargers led me on all year till yesterday. Coming out flat against the Fish was unacceptable. Even if we run the table and somehow beat Indy, KC, and Denver we may not make it. If there is a harder road the Bolts will take it. I gave you a thought during the Hawks 48-0 drubbing of Philly, how would I handle it? Well, I've suffered through 5 losses of all less than 3 points, oh, one was 4. We layed down a classic choke yesterday. Well we have made it this far, more n I can say for Eagle green. Hope you enjoyed the ride!

Hey it's me again up here in New England where the Patriots are still the world champions (last 3 of 4 years let me remind you)! I know, I know we got no chance at it this year. The team has been crippled with serious injuries to the secondary, defensive line, offensive line, running back and wide receiver but the team still has HEART something the Eagles never had. (We also lost our offensive and defensive coordinators). We are first in a division of poor teams and have the chance to clinch the division title with four games left in the regular season which is not much to say considering the teams in this division. But let me just say this. This team could be pointing fingers, mouthing off and self-destructing, but instead has decided to play the games. Most games have been close and exciting too! So I know you've disputed the fact this team may be a dynasty and so be it, you can't change the fact we have been world champions the past three of four years and the players have been great guys to cheer for while your Eagles have been the big mouth losers of the NFL.

Well this is how it goes when you make a deal with the Devil.  You can't quit half-way.  If TO needed coddling, he gets coddling until next year.  With TO, we could have won the Monday Nite Cowboys and the Skins games, providing Donovan threw to him.  Don't really like making a deal with the Lucifer incarnate, but Andy Reid did know the guidelines before he signed on...

The real story for 2005 is the complete mismanagement of the Depth Chart... Wow, no offensive linemen left. On Defense, thankfully Cole showed up to play.... But where is our middle stopper?.... Why he's with the Colts, that's where he is.  So the Eagles are 6 Million under the CAP and NOBODY to play offensive line after a Thomas or a Hicks goes to the locker room....and no one to play the defensive middle and NO T.O.

Don't quit on the Eagles just yet.  The Devil is still in the locker room, or in Drew's car.   Happy Thanksgiving everyone.  We still have a lot to be thankful....
