Feeling Hopeful
Hearing The Roots -- The Tipping Point
Did Somebody Say 3-0?
A view of the Linc, just to get ya in the mood...
That's right, first time the Birds have gone 3-0 since '93. McNabb has started strong (for once), we have a franchise receiver (for once) and the offense is clicking on all cylinders (ditto). The Eagles beat a strong up-and-coming, formerly undefeated Detroit Lions team on Sunday in the Motor City. Ask me if I feel good and I'll tell you 'I don't just feel good, I feel green... all over.'
There is no sense of desperation this year as many of the critics would have suggested at the beginning of the season. No, the Eagles haven't made it to the Big Game in their last three NFC Championship visits but they're acting like defending champs. You can't point to just one stat because they've improved across the board... turnover ratio, offensive yards, sacks, completion percentage... the list goes on and on.
To avoid the possibility of infusing too much hype into the already hyped-up Eagles season, let's talk for a moment about the injury list. It's robust... and it's still growing. Injuries to key players early in the year, including season-enders to Buckhalter and rookie lineman Andrews concern me. Thanks to yesterday's game, we can add Ritchie, Mayberry (torn bicep) and L.J. Smith (shoulder stuff) to the mix. This just in... FB Jon Ritchie is done for the season with a torn ACL. &#@&%!!!
We'll miss you Jonnie... oh and don't worry, you'll still get a Super Bowl ring :)
But let's be honest, if the Eagles can stay *relatively* healthy, they look like a lock to dominate the NFC East this year, maybe even the league.
So a look ahead to Week 4... Everyone in the tri-state area is already counting on a 4-0 record to head into the bye week. My suggestion... notsofast sports fans! OK, so the Bears are slightly hurtin'. They're operating with a key injury at the QB position (but then again, isn't everybody's injury list a mile long right now?!?). HOWEVER, don't the Eagles notoriously lose at least one game per season that on paper they should have run away with? The answer is yes. So let's not be cocky (psst... TO, no shenanigans in theend zone please, or anywhere in the stadium for that matter). We have a game to win, we need to contain the run and McNabb needs to... well, keep being McNabb. He should stop at nothing short of Super Bowl MVP this year. And if everyone in Philly is feelin' it (and you know they are), you know he's feelin' it too.
Disagree with me? Feel free, though do so at your own risk. Post your opinion.

iggles need some strong fans in this area.the skins fans are really goofy. for the last 13 or so years the local press has over rated their players and coaches.Every year it's the same thing; skins will be 10-6 or 11-5.the real problem is that the "pros "[ george ,sonny ,sam ,wilbon etc are really just fans--no objectivity--and the real fans just eat it up. they don't remember that last year this bunch was 5-11.

Ya igglz, I'm feelin' it. This team is a juggernaut, unlike the teams of the previous 3 years. People ask if the addition of one player can make such an impact. If you grew up being a Philly fan as I have, and can recall when the Phillies added Pete Rose and the 76ers added Moses Malone, one player CAN make a difference. T.O. is the missing link to the Super Bowl, I'm convinced. He makes Donovan seem more assured and confident of his ability and that is a HUGE implication. I'll look for you at the parade down Broad St. on Tuesday Feb. 8 or Wednesday Feb. 9. This is the year...BELIEVE E-A-G-L-E-S...EAGLEZZZZ!!!!

"Look at me! I'm a girl and know a lot about eagles stuff."
Here's what you clearly don't know - that the redskins are going to knock the iggles (nice screenname) off their little perch.
