InQuestOf Funny Stories

While at work Tuesday, Ole Boy called and said,
“You got time to hear something funny?"
Let me back up a few days. Since Peppy got sick, we’ve had some changes in our daily routine. Ole Boy takes him for a walk most every morning now. He mentioned to me that Peppy was “doing his business” in others’ yards. I figured that we didn’t need to let that go on, so I suggested we get some of the poop scoop bags, and Ole Boy could “finish the business” in our trash can at home.
Back to Tuesday’s phone call. I said,
“Sure, tell me something funny.”
He proceeded to tell me this story (paraphrased): “I was already dressed for work, you know, when I took Peppy for a walk. He did his thing, and when I scooped it up in the bag, I just hung it from my belt so that I could deposit it in the trash when I got back to the house." (It’s a small, black plastic bag.)
It was right before lunchtime when I get the phone call. The walk was hours before….
He continued (still paraphrasing), “So, I was out on a call in a neighboring city, and I was talking to a lady, and my hand brushed up against this ‘thing’ hanging from my belt. I kept talking to the lady, but my mind is saying, ‘What is this?” I gave it a little feel, and it hit me what it was!”
You can imagine. I was literally cracking up. I was laughing SO HARD, and when I turned to get a Kleenex, there stood the HR Director, the Asst. HR Director, Payroll Mgr, HR Specialist, Benefits Specialist and the HR Secretary waiting patiently for me to finish my call so that I could share the story.
Ole Boy said, “These bags must be really strong, I didn’t smell a thing.” I couldn’t help but wonder if anyone else did! I asked him what he did when he realized, and he said, “I just excused myself and went to the restroom and got rid of it.” He told me he had already been to the office, and had been on three calls….
He just might be the talk of two counties around here.

InQuestOf PSP
Good Morning
I have been busy this weekend learning how to use my Paint Shop Pro program, which I bought last year! I had to bug our resident PSP pro, Donna, a time or two (or four), but she was patient and kind, and answered my questions and gave me links and pointers. So off I was… and here are my “creations” from photos I have taken.

I thought I'd change "imagine" to "Spring" but found after I saved it, it got stubborn and wouldn't let me. Imagine that.

Someone had picked a few flowers and left them on a bench, so I arranged them on a stone wall and snapped a shot or two.

Black and white

This one is for Memorial Day.
(I should have waited, I guess...)

If I can figure out how to do a collage, I'm going to one of some UNA scenes.
Have a beautiful week, y'all.

InQuestOf "C"
When the weekend comes around, I always have such an itch to get out and explore. It's a good thing that Ole Boy likes it, too. This past weekend, I told him I needed to find my "C" picture, so off we went....
First...we went to the College and I got some Campus Color. This is what I see every morning when I walk into work....
Then, I made Ole Boy stop on the bridge so that I could take a picture of Cypress Creek.
We also passed some Cows...they're kind of Cute, I think....
so I am inCluding them...
We had a gorgeous day, too....only a few Clouds

InQuestOf ABC's...again!
I've decided to join an Alphabet Shoot, started by Martha. Her blog is perception and the entry is A - Z photo challenge. She started this some time back, but true to my form, I am just now starting.
The last time I did this, I used a lot of archived pictures. This time, my intention is to only use photos from 2008.
Since Peppy got sick, we've tried to make sure he gets more exercise. This morning, bright and early, we took him for a walk at Deibert Park, and this is where I finally found my "A" picture. Sure, I had apple blossoms from 2008, but I'd already posted them! So...here we go with my picture of an Arrow.

Now, since I'm behind, I also need to post my "B" picture. Last Sunday, Ole Boy and I went to to the early church service, and then went exploring. There is an old plantation home right here in the Shoals that is opened for tours, so we went in and took a look around. It's name is perfect....Belle Mont...for my "B" posting.

Here is a Bed from Belle Mont...

This home was built sometime around 1835, and a lot of the furnishings were original, some were on lend from other plantation homes. It was very interesting.

And this is Peppy....who is feeling MUCH better!
(He's not part of the ABC's...lol)

InQuestOf a Profile Type
I thought this little personality test was was fun.

General Description As your profile title suggests, Administrators combine the ability to get along with people (and include them in the outcome) with the determination to succeed at important goals. This blend of personality strengths makes you well suited for overseeing projects that require the cooperation of others.
Typical Areas of Strength Administrators, like you, tend to be persistent and goal-oriented; you promote cooperation among family and friends in order to work together as a team. You can be good leaders by blending patience with firmness.
Typical Areas of Struggle Due to your high commitment to reach your goals, you can sometimes come across as stubborn, inflexible to other options, and subject to right-or-wrong, no-middle-ground thinking.
Your Preferred Activities To maximize your talents, you look for situations in which you can achieve, lead, define personal and family goals, and build win-win opportunities.
Your Communication Style You typically build good relationships, which you use to delegate responsibilities, make assignments, and hold friends and family accountable for results.

InQuestOf Canine Diabetes
My fat little Peppy-dog has diabetes, we just found out yesterday. He got his first insulin shot yesterday at the vet's office, and this morning, I had to give him one.
The needle is very fine, and I don't think he felt the needle go in at all, but he did jump when I shot the medicine in. I wonder if I did it too fast and it stung? The vet didn't say anything about how slow/fast to shoot it, he just showed me how/where to stick him. And I'll have to do that twice a day.
He is in for a rude awakening, too....bless his little canine heart. This is a dog who is largely unaware he is a dog. Now, his diet will consist of a more natural, no-sugar-added dog food, and an occasional treat that is not the "good" stuff he used to get. And the worst punishment of all? No more "people food"! How unfair is that! My poor little (fat) Peppy! Since he got sick, though, he's lost about 3 pounds. We just need to get about 3 more off of him.
I looked for a pic of Peppy, but I can't find one (I'm at work right now.) Speaking of work, I guess I better get at it.

InQuestOf Being Tagged
I got tagged by Linda at Linda's World for this game:
Rules of the game
1. Each player answers questions about themselves.
2. At the end of the post the player then tags 5 people, and posts their names, goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment letting them know they've been tagged.
Questions
1. WHAT WHERE YOU DOING TEN YEARS AGO
I had just left my day job, due to some intolerable injustices. I had a part time medical transcriptionist job, which I did at home, and I ended up taking most of the Summer off, getting by with a little help from my friends (you know who you are and thank you...I LOVE YOU!) It was 10 years ago that I first started working "for" Mr. Big. Don't you miss those Mr. Big stories?? I DON'T!!! lol
2. WHAT ARE (were) 5 THINGS ON MY TO-DO LIST TODAY
Work, take Peppy to the Vet...we just found out today he has diabetes, go to WalMart, watch The Bachelor, and end my day with my quiet time with God (However, I talk with Him all through the day.)
3. SNACKS I ENJOY
This should read "Snacks I don't Enjoy" Well! Can't think of any.
4. WHAT WOULD YOU DO IF YOU WERE A BILLIONAIRE?
This is assuming I just got the money:
1. Tithes. I would split this between several of the local churches who are doing great community things.
2. Trust Fund for all the kids and grandkids.
3. Pay off all debts of parents, brothers and sisters. Give them cold hard cash.
4. Throw the biggest all expenses paid family reunion the Coleman clan has ever seen. Then I might do it for the other side, too...who knows!!
5. Donate to my favorites: St. Jude's Children's Hospital would get a huge chunk, Operation Smile, and Creation Truth Foundation, various scholarship funds, just to name a few.
6. I'd also give a big donation for this area, for a huge aquarium.
7. Make sure Bears were well taken care of.
5. BAD HABITS
spending too much time doing nothing, Not trusting in God like I should, Eating, eating, eating all the wrong things
6. 5 PLACES I HAVE LIVED
Only Alabama
7. 5 JOBS I'VE HAD (I remember answering this before somewhere)
Bar Chick...Shoney's Salad Bar, that is. Shoe Chick, at the shoe store....and I had plenty of shoes, mind you! Transcriptionist for a foot doctor, Recruiter, Office Manager.
people I want to know about:
Everybody! If you read this, and you enjoyed my answers, then I'm tagging you. Just come back and leave me a link!

InQuestOf Purple
It's Purple Time!
And you can tell by my journal that I'm partial to Purple.
is purple this week.
Purple Mountain's Majesty
(Great Smoky Mountains)
Purple Flowers by the River
Iris in my Front Yard
Wisteria (and bee) in my back yard
Years ago, I would have always said purple is my favorite color. Now....blue probably is, but purple still holds a special place in my heart.
