Smooth Textured Canyon Walls

The photograph above was captured during my trip last week to Arizona. I actually started the trip in Utah and headed south to Bryce Canyon before crossing the border into Arizona and finally ending up in Sedona. Over the next few weeks I'll post some of my faovrite images from this trip - staring with this shot from inside one of the "slot" canyons found in Arizona.
The walls of this canyon were about 100 feet in height and years of water rushing through this canyon has created this magnificent erosion of sand stone. The top of the canyon is open allowing sunlight to light the inner walls of the canyon. During the summer months, the midday sun will actually stream into the canyon, but in February the sun is too low in the horizon.

All of my photos go through a slight contrast, saturation, and sharpness enhancement in order to bring out the best in each photo. I set my DSLR not to do this since the cameras processesing isn't as clean or as accurate as doing it in Photoshop. The colors inside the canyon do indeed look this beautiful.
