Miami, Florida
Friday, October 7th
We arrived @ Signature airport in Miami at 1:30am from show in Tallahassee. Famu you definitely came out and represented. First we got to get to the hotel, get 3 hrs sleep and be ready roll by 6am. It doesn't stop.
Its now 6:03am and we are on our way to miami radio WEDR 99 jamz. I'm doing the morning show with some of our friends Big Lip, Benji and SupaCindy
You know morning radio is crazee. Everybody is trying to wake up and handle their business. Lots of coffee and red bulls. Great interview because all of us have simular come up stories and we are still on our grind today. Big shout out to the Big Lip Morning show. I had a great time. Next morning show stop is WPOW Power 96 with my homeboy DJ Laz. I don't know about you guys, but have you met someone who when you talk to them, you know you guys are on the same page. Well Laz doesn't know, but he inspired me and gave me even more inspiration to keep doing what I'm doing. The Latino community called to ask me lots of questions about Making It Happen and to give me confirmation that I'm promoting a message for all cultures. Hip Hop is the catalyst towards the Browning of America. I'm happy to serve. Next stop Overtown Youth Center with the Mayor of Miami, Manny Diaz.
We arrived at the Overtown Youth Center around 11:45am. Wow, when we pulled up in the Kevin Liles "Make It Happen" tour bus, you would of thought someone was about to perform. There were around 200 kids from ages 7 to 18. Mayor Mannie Diaz proclaimed Friday, October 7th as "Make It Happen" Day in Miami. Along with the President of Platform Learning we spoke to the kids encouraging them to, Rule #1 Find Your Will. Giving them every reason to Make It. Happen for themselves. I encouraged them start young by doing simple things, such as letting their parents know they are ready to Make It Happen and serve their family and community. The event was a huge success and Mayor Diaz is very committed to our culture and Young America. Next stop WMIB. 103.5 The Beat for their version of an in studio series, called Behind the beats.
I arrived @ their studios around 5pm. The host was Prince Markie D, formely of the Fat Boys. There was a studio audience of about 100 people and it was aired live to millions of people throughout miami. It really makes me feel good to see people so focused on improving themselves. I spent 2 hours answering questions, sharing my life experiences and giving advice. Great event. Nxt stop Mobile, Alabama on Monday, October 10th.
