Feeling Quiet
Hearing Brahms, piano concerto #1, by Brendel

The It Girl

Condi, the It girls at the moment.  She's just so adorable.  Would she be the answer to Hillary at the next presidential election?  Hillary brings to mind a born politician, old ginger as Chinese would say, calculating, without principals, plus a pair of fat ankles.

When Condi was asked whether she dates, she said, of course she's not going to answer that, but she has a group of wonderful friends ... and yes she'd like to get married, "but not in the abstract, you want to marry someone..."  My heart went out for her.

For war on Iraq, she said, "I'll let history to judge those things... "  What US is doing, is no different from what the UK did back couple of centuries ago.  On exporting democracy, the example she used has got me thinking, for I always thought that unless the country is ready, no one can force a political change.  Look at China, two humiliating opium wars hadn't opened its door - but planted the seeds?  Now China's door couldn't be opened wider to welcome capitalism by its government and people.  Rice uses the case of blacks allowed to vote in the US, she said, people were worried that the black people weren't ready, they wouldn't know what to do.  But given the opportunity, the black people rose to the occasion.  The rest is history.  I somewhat convinced.

Oh, did you hear how her pronounces 'mature' during her interview on 60 Minutes?
