Jubilee! -- Saint Paul

The Church has entered the Great Jubilee Year of the Apostle Saint Paul, marking the two thousandth anniversary of his birth.  The Universal Church unites Herself in following the example of our beloved leader and teacher of the early Faith community.

Saint Paul is often pictured with a sword, the symbol and instrument of his martyrdom as a Roman citizen, but the sword stands for something else: his piercing word and the ability to speak eloquently about his passion for Jesus Christ.  Let us ask his intercession in discovering what sword Jesus has gifted to us so we may spread the Good News of Jesus to the four corners of the world.

Saint Paul, pray for us!

Therefore put on the whole armor of God!  And surely no one gave us a better example than the apostle Paul!  -  Barbara

Thanks for this entry, Kellen.  How exciting.  I am striving to learn more about St. Paul, and how he chose to follow the Lord.  There are those in our day and age who are put off by him.  I had a Christian friend tell me the other day, well I don't understand Paul.  He is not even like Jesus.  She was saying that Jesus was loving and Paul was not.  She was practically saying that Paul was not a Christian, which is ludicrous.  My friend just couldn't accept Paul's zeal for the Lord.  I love the way you put it, that we are to ask to discover what sword Jesus has gifted to us so we may spread the Good news of Jesus to the four corners of the earth.  That is sound spiritual advice.  Thank you so much for this entry.

How are you doing Kellen?  You did say you were home now, right?  Are you having a bang up fourth of July?  Well, have a great one!

    Krissy :)
