Feeling Frustrated

Past time to drill in Alaska and OFF SHORE!!!

(scoffed this up from the old Boomers Journal)

Now for today's entry..........

Hearing from Mort over in the UK that gas has broken $11 a gallon, does that scare any of us over here? If we drill for oil and get more out of Alaska, against the protests of the environmentalists will it lower our prices? If you can convince some radicals that Off Shore drilling around the US is not the end of the world, and we find more, will it lower the prices?

Those questions haunt my mind. Have the Oil companies gotten so used to the receipts from the higher prices they just cannot live with dropping it? I think that may be true. Now I begin to think more against my beliefs, but what about regulations on Oil? It has been effective in a lot of sectors. Why not find the oil, then let the Oil Companies and the Auto manufactures know there will be a cap of $50 a barrel and a top reg gas/diesel of $2.20 per gallon. For a period of eight years. At the end of 8 years it goes up to $75 with gas no higher than $2.80.

By that time frame we must have autos that actually get 150 miles per gallon and trucks that can haul a load 100 miles on a gallon. Is it possible, sure. I can remember when auto makers said it was impossible to get 35 miles per gallon. Technology is always advancing. Someone will one day mix water and gas, or something to that affect.

There are hydrogen cars on the road now, do you hear anything about them? There seems to be good possibilities here. It will take some time for the infrastructure to be set up for fuel all over the USA.

In the mean time we could slow down the traffic. I gained 1 to 2 mpg by lowering my speed back to 55mph. I think the truckers are slowing down a bit. They were consistently traveling at 78 - 85mph, now I think they are down to about 72-75, they just can’t seem to get down to the speed limit. LOL

I have heard no political types promise to take care of it, at least I haven’t read it on the net, which is the only place I would see it since I don’t listen to the radio nor watch TV.

Aren’t our major issues Immigration and oil? Oh yeah, and that little war over there. At least one has said HE thinks it can be won. Who knows?

Can you win a war against the Arabs? Israel hasn’t been able to settle anything since 1948. They have won many wars, but have given back the territory at our and UN insistence, and still they live under constant threats and attacks.

If we elect Obama will he be a friend to Israel? I would hope so. The more I think about it, I still like McCain. I read a lot of good about the man while he was a POW.

Enough,

I like your idea about the gas prices, Jack; my husband and me were just talking about this today; why haven't they done more to make other vehicles that run on other things other than oil? they keep talking about it and have made some progress but after all these years, you'd think there would be more progress made; I can't believe gas is so expensive in the UK

I'm leaning towards McCain of the 3 left in the race; I like that he is trying to run a campaign with integrity; I would hope he could continue that goal

I guess I will find me an Apartment close to a Shopping Center and buy a golf
cart and get some roller skates.  If I fall skating  all I had saved will be  spent at the Hospital.  Everybody said I would be the best dressed person at the
retirement home sitting on the porch in a rocking chair.  Maybe I will just head
on to the retirement center and charge the little ladies $l.00 to take them shopping.  Take 5 would pay for a gallon of gas.  If someone runs into my car
then the little ladies would sue me there goes that deal.  Guess I will deal with.

wow i cant wait to tell my kids about the gas prices in U.K. My deedee was complaining about the four dollars and change she paid today. I no longer have a vehicle so i dont keep up with the raises as they happen.  We may have to have a national day  of prayer for America!
